Dance cardio
Zumba
The one the reviews keep coming back to: a music-led dance class that works you without feeling like a workout.

What it is
The hour, honestly.
Zumba is dance cardio built on Latin and international rhythms. The instructor leads from the front, the music carries the room, and the moves repeat enough that you can stop thinking and start moving.
You do not need a dance background. You need shoes that let you pivot, water, and a willingness to be a little off-beat while you learn the pattern. Long-time dancers and first-timers share the same floor here.
Windows, not a timetable
This class runs inside the published class windows, and the line-up can vary by day. Call to confirm it is on when you plan to come.

What the hour looks like.
Warm-up
The first songs are slower and simpler — a chance to find the beat and loosen up before the tempo climbs.
The combinations
The instructor adds layers to repeating steps: a side-touch becomes a turn, a march becomes a shuffle. Follow the feet in front of you and keep moving when you lose the count.
Cool-down
The last stretch brings the heart rate down and gives you a minute to catch your breath before you head back out to Broadway.

Who it is for
It fits if…
- People who want cardio that feels like a room full of people having a good time.
- First-timers who are worried about choreography — the class is built to be picked up as you go.
- Anyone who has tried a gym floor and would rather move to music.
Not sure whether it fits? Call the studio and describe what you want from the hour. That is a better question than a quiz.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
Do I need dance experience?
No. Zumba is taught as follow-along choreography and every class is listed as all levels. Start near the back if you want room to learn the steps.
What should I bring?
Water, a towel and shoes you can move in. Wear something you can sweat in and turn in.
How do I know Zumba is running in a class window?
The windows are published, but the class line-up can vary by day. Call (760) 678-8193 and ask which class is on when you plan to come.
