Strength

Strength stations

A circuit of strength stations with kettlebells, BOSU and bodyweight work — paced so you can actually finish each set.

Strength and conditioning work during a class

What it is

The hour, honestly.

Strength stations turn the room into a circuit. You work at one station, then move to the next, using kettlebells, the BOSU and your own bodyweight. The instructor sets the order and the clock.

It is strength work in a group room, not a lifting meet. The goal is controlled reps and a pace you can repeat, with a lighter option always available.

Windows, not a timetable

This class runs inside the published class windows, and the line-up can vary by day. Call to confirm it is on when you plan to come.

The session

What the hour looks like.

01

Set-up

The instructor walks through the stations and the movement at each one, including the version to use if you want less load or less impact.

02

The circuit

Work moves around the room station by station, with short transitions. Pick a weight you can control for the whole set rather than the heaviest one on the rack.

03

Repeat and stretch

The circuit repeats, then the class finishes with stretching for the areas you just worked.

Who it is for

It fits if…

  • People who want strength work but not a solo gym session.
  • Members who like a clear order and someone calling the pace.
  • Anyone who wants to learn kettlebell and bodyweight movements in a group setting.

Not sure whether it fits? Call the studio and describe what you want from the hour. That is a better question than a quiz.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

How heavy are the kettlebells?

There is a range on the floor, and the right one is the one you can move with control. Ask the instructor before class if you want help choosing.

I have a bad back or knee. Can I still do the class?

Tell the instructor before class and ask for the version that works for you. If a movement causes pain, stop and ask — the class is not worth an injury. For a medical question, check with your doctor first.

Is this class cardio too?

The circuit keeps you moving, so your heart rate comes up, but the focus is controlled strength work rather than dance cardio.
